VIP guests and celebrities mingled before dinner at a reception in the Fairmont’s Presidential Suite. Guests then made their way down to the Silent Auction outside the main ballroom featuring memorabilia celebrating the Forty-Niner and Giants dynasties as well as several items from the Golden State Warriors 2015 Championship season.

This year we were honored to display the Giants’ World Series Championship Trophies, the 49ers’ collection of Vince Lombardi Trophies and the Warriors’ four NBA Finals Championship Trophies along with Stephen Curry’s NBA League MVP titles. Guests were able to pose for pictures with the trophies accompanied by several Warriors and 49ers Dancers.

Damon Bruce opened the dinner program with celebrity introductions and a special thank you to Gold Sponsors BTIG and Seal Software. Immediately after the introductions, Damon welcomed Giants’ Announcers Mike Krukow and Duane Kuiper up to the stage for a Q&A. The fan favorites entertained the crowd as they reminisced about the Giants past championships and discussed the upcoming season as the Giants prepare to make another historic run for the World Series.

Damon then welcomed our honorary guest, Bob Myers, to the stage. Bob shared stories of the Warriors current success, along with the opportunity to bring NBA Star Kevin Durant to the Warriors organization.

The Live Auction began after the panel discussion and dinner service and featured a variety of lots from local Bay Area experiences to international travel packages. Auctioneer Keith McLane kept the auction moving and the energy was high with an assist from the Warriors’ Hype Man, Franco Finn.

Halfway through the Live Auction lots, we were joined by special guest Sukai Crutchfield Billinge, the 2017 Boys and Girls Clubs of San Francisco Youth of the Year for Camp Mendocino and a senior at St. Mary’s College Preparatory. Sukai has been attending Camp Mendocino for ten years on a Guardsmen scholarship. As a Camp Mendocino Leader-in-Training (teen staff) for three years, Sukai loves the opportunity to work with kids and have an impact on their lives, while spending her summers in the majestic redwood forest. After graduation, she plans to go to college and study hospitality and/or international relations on her way to owning her own event planning business.

The Live Auction resumed after Sukai’s speech with “The Pledge” where guests have an opportunity to donate directly to the Guardsmen’s mission. The outpouring of support was tremendous, raising nearly $50,000 in just a matter of minutes.

Overall the event raised nearly $600k which is close to a record high for an event produced by The Guardsmen. It was a great night for at-risk Bay Area youth.

On behalf of The Guardsmen and the Giants Community Fund, we thank the community for all the support!
